  • More than hunting

We are searching the internet for land to purchase to build our “forever “ home and raise our children. We find land on multiple sites and most display a map of the property. We then look it up on OnX and get the owner’s name and then research tax liens, fire damage, divorce sales, etc. We plan family outings to NFS and BLM areas also. Easily the most used app on my phone and well worth the money!
  • Onx saved us!

    By TakeTheToast&Leave
We got lost and then stuck while we were out hunting... went too far into the boundaries to where we had never been. And even though I didn’t have ANY service, Onx still showed roads and helped us get home late at night. A+ app!

I do love onX, I have to say. It’s easy enough to use for even a non tech savvy guy like myself. I hunt mostly public land and marking sign like beds and rubs etc can really help piece the puzzle together on game. The ability to switch from satellite to topo is handy as well. The date of the imagery would be nice. The ability to switch imagery date years would be nice in certain terrain like marshy areas. For example, in northern Wisconsin where I hunt the landscape changes sometimes yearly through new clear cuts and that’s why knowing the imagery date would be nice. I’m not complaining however because I grew up learning navigation with a compass and good woodsmanship so this is almost like cheating anyway! Cheers OnX!
  • Why would it cost money

    By on X is bad
It should not cost money. They say it’s for hunters made by hunters but who would want to pay for it and there is web sites you can find all of this stuff on and more for free
  • Indispensable

    By Daddycausingchaos
I’m a licensed falconer in the state of Iowa. We have very little public land locally compared to most of the western states. Getting a wide range of permissions with varied habitat is key to successful hunting from year to year. Finding who owns particular properties and gaining permission to hunt is, without a doubt, the first step to success. OnX is the quickest, most dependable method I’ve found for tracking elusive property owners. In the first month after downloading the onX app I went from approximately 300 acres of permissions to well over 1000 acres. A year later I have over 2000 acres of permissions within a 50 mile radius of home. That alone is worth the price but when you consider the map tools, such as waypoints and area calculator... I couldn’t go back to a time without it. The app has functioned without a single glitch. Thanks, onX!
